Meet the Crew

Captain Brandon
A lifelong boater with a deep passion for the sea, Brandon is the seasoned charter captain of Sommer, a stunning Leopard 50 sailing catamaran. With his expertise and love for adventure, he’s ready to transform your dream of a Virgin Islands charter into a life-changing journey—where every sail invokes the spirit of freedom, every horizon sparks wonder, and each day becomes an unforgettable adventure on the open water.

From cruising the crystal-clear waters of the Virgin Islands to sharing breathtaking Caribbean sunsets, Brandon’s passion for adventure, nature, and hospitality truly shines. With extensive experience sailing to 14 countries, the entire East Coast down to Key West, as well as the Northwest up into Alaska and throughout most of the Carribean—he invites you to discover hidden bays, pristine beaches, and the vibrant life beneath the waves.

Safety is always his top priority, but fun and exploration are never far behind! Whether it's snorkeling with sea life, exploring the sights from a paddleboard, swimming and hiking in the Baths on Virgin Gorda, or enjoying sundowners at serene locations, Captain Brandon is ready to make your luxury charter unforgettable. You might even catch him sharing a story or two at the helm as you island hop in the VI!


Chef Gigi
Chef Gigi brings a world of flavor, warmth, and professionalism to every charter experience. With over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, Gigi’s career began well before she stepped aboard yachts. She previously owned and operated a private villa and full-service restaurant, where she prepared gourmet meals for an international clientele—delivering high-end culinary experiences in a personalized, intimate setting.

Her talents later led her to cater exclusive events in luxury villas and on private yachts, eventually transitioning into full-time roles as both stewardess and chef aboard private and chartered vessels around the world. It was in the galley, surrounded by sea and sky, that Gigi discovered her true calling: combining her love of exceptional cuisine with her passion for the ocean.

Gigi is a graduate of the Ashburton Cookery School & Chefs Academy, where she further refined her culinary skills and commitment to excellence. Based in the Virgin Islands in recent years, she has developed a strong knowledge of sourcing local, seasonal ingredients—bringing freshness and authenticity to every dish she creates.

Her culinary style is as diverse as her travels, drawing inspiration from Asian, Mediterranean, North American, and Caribbean cuisines. She is passionate about keeping food as healthy and vibrant as possible, always tailoring meals to guest preferences and dietary needs.

Gigi holds a current STCW certification as well as a Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate. With her natural hospitality, global experience, and dedication to creating memorable meals, Chef Gigi is ready to welcome you aboard with warmth, flavor, and five-star service at sea.

DAY BREAK
Breakfast Tacos – Scrambled eggs topped with black beans & avocado. Served on a warm tortilla topped with cheese & pico de gallo.

Big Breakfast Bang – Eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, served with homestyle pancakes.

French Toast – Brioche toast batter dipped, dusted with powdered sugar, topped with fresh berries.

Belgian Waffle – Dusted with powdered sugar and berries.

Create Your Own Omelette or Breakfast Burrito – Choice of vegetables, meat, and cheese. Served with fresh salsa.
Veggies: Mushroom, onions, tomatoes, tri-color peppers, or spinach.

 

MIDDAY
Chef Special BLT – (Pork, turkey, or veggie bacon) with fresh spinach or romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers & avocado. Your choice of bread.

Tacos or Quesadillas – (Shrimp, beef, chicken, or steak)
Toppings: Choice of pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, guacamole.

Chicken or Tuna Salad – Served on a bed of lettuce or choice of bread. Choice of toppings.

Cheeseburger Brioche – Your choice of toppings on a toasted brioche bun. Served with side salad and chips.

 

HORS D’EOUVRES
Nacho Supreme (Ground beef or blackened chicken) crispy nachos topped with cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole.

Lettuce Wraps (Shrimp or chicken) glazed in sweet teriyaki sauce, topped with toasted sesame seeds.

Conch Fritters – Deep fried, drizzled with chef’s special sauce.

Shrimp Cocktail – Citrus-marinated steamed shrimp served with cocktail sauce.

 

STARTERS
Classic Caesar Salad – With chicken or salmon.

Spring Salad – Fresh berries, watermelon & feta cheese on a bed of arugula.

Spinach Salad – Thin-sliced cucumbers, almonds, and avocado on a bed of fresh spinach.

Garlic Cheese Bread – Oven-baked French bread with homemade garlic butter, topped with mozzarella.

Fresh Garden Salad – Tomato, cucumber, red onions, cheese, and croutons on a bed of mixed greens.

All salads served with homemade dressing.

MAIN
Seafood Paella – Seasoned saffron rice with mussels, shrimp, scallops & clams. Served with side salad.

Herb Roasted Chicken – Marinated & baked in fresh herbs and spices. Served with seasoned rice, coleslaw, garlic green beans, or broccoli.

Hawaiian BBQ Chicken – Flame-broiled chicken basted in a homemade pineapple BBQ sauce. Served with corn on the cob and your choice of garlic mashed potatoes, pasta salad, or potato salad.

Oxtail – Braised beef in a Caribbean-style brown stew sauce made with veggies, fresh herbs, and seasonings. Served with Caribbean rice & peas, vegetable medley, and sweet plantains.

Pan-Seared Steak (Cut varies) – Served with choice of garlic mashed potatoes or lobster mac & cheese, and choice of green beans or asparagus.

Local Catch (Catch of the Day)
Salmon – Grilled or pan-seared (teriyaki, blackened, or butter lemon sauce).

Shrimp & Lobster Pasta – Linguine pasta in a lemon butter sauce with fresh garlic, mushrooms, and tri-color sweet peppers. Finished with heavy cream.

Crab Boil – Snow crab legs, shrimp, mussels, clams, potatoes, corn, boiled egg (optional smoked sausage), steamed in a lemon garlic butter sauce and chef’s special 6-spice seasoning.

Vegetarian
Tofu Bites – Extra firm fried tofu nuggets (brown stew, curry, BBQ).
Veggie Lasagna – 5-layer lasagna made with classic marinara, spinach, broccoli, and carrots. Topped with a 3-cheese medley and fresh herbs.

 

DESSERT
Double chocolate brownie- warm homemade brownies topped with fresh cream and strawberries.

Strawberry shortcake special- Vanilla or strawberry loaf topped with fresh cream and homemade strawberry sauce.

Fresh Baked Cookies- warm chocolate chip or sugar cookies served with vanilla ice cream.
